Day Trip
Your family luxury safari begins with a warm reception at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) located 50 km from Arusha. This is followed by a two-hour (130 km) drive by a private 4x4 safari vehicle to Tarangire National Park (2,850 km²) famous for its elephant population and ancient baobab trees. There is an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River where you can view the fantastic sight of elephants bathing (hundreds of them gather during the dry season which extends from June to October), giraffes feeding acacias, zebras and wildebeests peacefully grazing, lions lounging at waterholes, and if you are lucky, leopards basking in the branches of trees. Tarangire is also home to over 550 species and during the afternoon, one can spot lilac breasted rollers and yellow collared lovebirds which are some of the vibrant avian lives. Your guide who is an expert on the location will make sure you do not miss any of the important viewing points and will share wonderful insights about the animals to entertain the children as well as adults. A picnic lunch will be served at a shaded spot with exquisite views of the savannah. After lunch you check off the box of experiencing the sunset in the African savannah which will then be followed by dusk where you can experience a multi-course dinner served under the enchanting night sky while immersed in the sounds of African wildlife. The meal marks the start of your stay at a luxurious tented camp featuring spacious family suites with en-suite bathrooms, exquisite bedding, and a private veranda with river views.

After tainting breakfast at the tented camp, you will head to the Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Park. This will be done via a 4–5-hour drive which covers a distance of 280 km. Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site that covers an area of around 14,763 km². While there, you will embark on an afternoon game drive in the central Seronera region after lunch, which will be served as a picnic at the Naabi Hill Gate. During this time, you will witness several lions reclining on kopjes (rocky outcrops) as well as cheetahs sprinting across the savanna. Other animals such as leopards draped over Acacia branches and calves foraging with their mothers will also be sighted. If you're lucky enough to visit between June and July or December and March you'd get to witness the magic of migration where, along with the leopards, thousands of wildebeests and zebras are thundering by, chased by several other predators such as hyenas and lions for the migration. As your guide navigates the endless stretches of wildlife he will provide binoculars for closer views, making sure everyone gets to enjoy the magnificent ecosystem of the Serengeti. Shortly after sunset, the whole family will be driven to spend the night in a luxurious lodge that has family suites, elegant decor and panoramic views of the plains giving the visitors access to a galerie de gaze. You will be served a wonderful dinner followed by a night spent under the dazzling stars of the serengeti and soft whispers of winds carrying the stereo sounds of wild life.

Check out from the Serengeti lodge after a game drive at sunrise. Your chances of spotting the Big Five are high as you may see black rhinos and lions (approximately 30 of them reside here), leopards, and cheetahs as well as buffalo herds while elephants are less common compared to the other species. You leave the lodge mid-morning, and enjoy a 3-hour drive (approximately 145 km) to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, grab a quick bite at a scenic viewpoint that overlooks the crater. Activities include a 4–5-hour afternoon game drive into the Crater; as you descend the 600 meters into the 260 sq km Ngorongoro Crater (volcanic caldera) filled with wildlife where you may see Hyena, zebras, flamingos (seasonal) as well as Storks, and facing the lake, with some luck leopards can be found at the edges of the forest., During herding season, noticing them while being catered to by some big caliber ponies will also reveal some hidden gems. After enjoying breakfast at crater rim lodge, embark on a one-hour drive, with a distance of approx 60 km, to Lake Manyara National Park. This compact park at 330 km² located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment offers a final taste of Tanzania’s bio-diversity. It offers an opportunity for morning game drive through the forest and lakeside habitat where one can spot tree climbing lions, buffalos grazing beside water, hippos swimming in pools, baboons chatter in troops as the three is high density in Africa and during the wet months November – April flamingos can be seen on the shores of lake alongside over 400 other species of bird such as pelican and stork. Your guide will stop at scenic vantage point to take family photographs, after along with his gourmet picnic lunch in a tranquil setting. This will be followed by a 130-kilometer drive down to Arusha which takes two hours. Arrival is in the midafternoon around 3-4 pm, and you can be easily transferred to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport where your luxury safari filled with the unforgettable sights of Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes and family moments in the wild comes to a close.
