Once again, the day started after feasting on breakfast at the tree top. My next goal was to make it to the Serengeti National Park which is around 4 hours (or 240 kilometers) from the lodge. The path leads through the lesser-known parts of the park and from the middle of it, I could see the magnificent 14 thousand plus kilometers of the rest of the park. The park before was protected as a world heritage site and is particularly well-known for its Great Migration alongside the myriad of activities that one can do in the national park. In the Kun protected region I was able to sight some lions resting atop boulders waiting to capture a prey. Along the protected region borders, there were some Cheetahs roaming the fields, spots filled with leopards, forests filled with acacia trees, and women elephants guiding their babies. At the acacia, a monkey-teacher greeted me along with some other tourists. While we were merging with the other guide group, the guide Professor came to welcome us. They had prepared us the best jaw dropping lunch I had under an acacia tree with elegant views. During these times of migration or during July-December and March, you’re able to sight huge blobs of thousands of Zebras and wildebeest being quarried after by Hyenas. My guide at the time gave me enough binoculars to go around, so I was ready to get sighting. After the rest at the lodge, I checked what I had ordered prior, and was never disappointed. It had elegant suits alongside big windows offering views of the plains. After going for a light evening activity session, which was followed by a delectable dinner. Then, I laid back and dozed off to the sounds of wildlife underneath a clear sky filled with plentiful stars.

Over lunch, go on a scenic drive to a secluded spot where you can enjoy a picnic while watching hippos and crocodiles marvel at a remote waterhole. After lunch, set off to explore deeper into the savanna plains and try to catch a glimpse of the Big Five. For sundowners, return to your lodge and enjoy fine drinks and gourmet canapés set against an exquisite view of the plains and view the blazing sun dip below the horizon. Finally indulge in a multi-course dinner while relishing the day’s events as flames crackle in the fireplace.

Here we can witness black rhinos, dense lions, buffalo herds, elephants, and leopards, surrounded by hyenas, zebras, and flamingos at Lake Magadi (seasonal). After this, we were taken to view a hippo pool where the guide treated us with an outstanding picnic while taking in all the beauty the crater walls have to offer.
