Itinerary
The exhilarating journey of climbing kilimanjaro starts from Moshi, a sweet little town that rests at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Soon after you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a private transfer will take you to a lodge in Morosh. Here, you will meet your professional guides who will be taking you through the Rongai Route. Your guides will brief you on safety measures, equipment checks, and the right way to trek through high altitudes. With the knowledge that you've gathered, you can choose to either relax or energize yourself at Moshi's lively markets where the culture is as rich as the heritage of the Chagga people. The vigorous dinner you will have will prepare your body and mind for rest which will be vital at the start of the Tanzanian wilderness.

For breakfast, you will experience a scenic 2-3 hour drive via villages and coffee plantations. This lovely excursion will bring you to spawn Rongai Gate (1,950 m / 6,398 ft) which is also the start point for the registration. You start the trek with guided treks that start with five to four hours kip of 7 km “leveling up” in the fuels rainforest filled with integrated wildlife. Expect to see antelope, buffalo and colobus zanzibar monkeys reminiscent of the national parks in Tanzania. The trail is Walk-through aiding the initial phase of acclimatization. This hike takes 5-6 hours to complete and covers a distance of 6 km. It takes you further into the moorland zone to Kikelewa Camp (3,600 m / 11,811 ft). During the 4-5 hour trek today, you are going to gain an elevation of around 4 kilometers to reach Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,315 m / 14,160 ft), situated directly under the exposed jagged Mawenzi Peak. The path now changes to alpine desert with sparse flora and breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro’s two peaks. The rest you receive on this shorter hike will help you get ready for the summit day. Your guides lead an optional acclimatization walk to a nearby ridge that aids in gaining elevation and explaining the fascinating geology of the area. Kibo Camp (4,700 m / 15,420 ft) serves as your base for the summit attempt. It takes a 5-6 hour hike spanning 8 km (4.7 miles). The trail crosses the Saddle, an austere alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. There are magnificent views of the summit path. A gradual increase in altitude enhances your chances of summit success. Strength is required from staying at camp by midday, resting, hydrating, and preparing for the midnight summit push. The climb takes approximately 6-8 hours as you trek approximately 6 km to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft), the Roof of Africa. In headlamp light, you will trail Gilman’s Point (5,681 m / 18,638 ft) at sunrise, with steep scree views, and the crater rim looking jaw dropping. A final 1-2 hour effort brings you to Uhuru Peak where you will commence your summit success celebration with 360 views of the Tanzanian wilderness. After taking your photos, descend 14 km over 6-8 hours to Horombo Camp (3,720 m / 12,205 ft). From there take the-Marangu Route- descending through moorland and rainforest. This marks the final chapter of your high altitude trekking journey, where you can finally relax at camp.
